Ava Ciampi (Wolcott, Conn.) played the toughest doubles match, falling, 7-5, in the No. 3 match. In singles, WestConn senior Sophia Charbonneau (Oakville, Conn.) took her opponent to a tiebreaker at No. 3 spot before falling, 6-7, 6-1, 10-1. The Wolves will be back in action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when they visit Castleton in a Little East Conference match.
"The score tonight was not indicative to how close the match really was," said WestConn Head Coach Shawn Stillman. "With that said, we need to play stronger and smarter in these type of matches."
