Ryan Cavanagh (5th Season), finished the 2024 campaign with a 13-5 overall record and won the the Little East regular season title with a 7-1 mark against conference teams. The Wolves were the top seed in the LEC Championship Tournament and defeated Keene State, 11-9, in the semifinals before falling to Plymouth State, 16-10, in the LEC Championship Finals.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® men's honorees will be announced on July 17. To be selected to the LEC Winter All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30. To be named the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of the season.
Hawthorne, who repeats on the CSC Academic All-District Team, finished second on the Wolves in scoring with 28 goals and 28 assists for 56 points while playing in all 18 games with 176 starts in the Wolves attack. He had one game-winning goal, two manu-up tallies, scored once with the WestConn playing a man down, and scooped 17 ground balls this spring. An alum of Eastport South Manor High School, Hawthorne has collected Little East Academic Honor Roll and All-Academic Honors as well as New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Academic recognition at WestConn. He earned his bachelor's degree in communication in 2023 is currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration at his alma mater.
Maloney recorded one assist, scooped 16 ground balls, and caused 12 turnovers while appearing in 17 games in the WestConn midfield this spring. A graduate of the Connetquot High School, Maloney is has been a Little East Conference Academic Honor Roll member multiple times as a finance major at WestConn.
