DANBURY, Conn. — Western Connecticut State University men's lacrosse seniors Tyler Moeller (Rocky Point, N.Y.) and Owen Stark (Long Beach, N.Y.), juniors James Krieg (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and Cody Suhr (Holbrook, N.Y.) and sophomore Jake Kelly (Bethpage, N.Y.) were each named to the 2026 CSC Division III Academic All-District At-Large Team, while Moeller and Stark graced the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-American Team, and those three plus graduate Michael Zapatka (Newington, Conn.) and seniors Dmitri Noulas (Bethpage, N.Y.) and Luca Ubaldi (Milford, Conn.) graced the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Academic Team. 

In addition, The foursome, along with seven other Wolves were named to the Little East Conference (LEC) Spring All-Academic Team, 31 Wolves made the LEC 2025 Fall Academic Honor Roll and 32 were on the LEC 2026 Spring Academic Honor Roll.  WestConn, coached by Ryan Cavanagh (10th Season), finished the 2026 campaign with a 15-4 overall record and completed a perfect 8-0 run through the LEC conference for the second year in a row to capture the regular season title.  The Wolves downed Plymouth State, 20-3, in the LEC Semifinals but lost, 13-10, versus Massachusetts Maritime in the LEC Finals. 

The 2026 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.  Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® men's honorees will be announced on July 8.

The 2026 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Academic Team members are nominated by head coaches in Divisions I, II and II, and are student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their men's lacrosse career.  Overall, 59 different colleges and universities were represented across all three divisions.  In total, 202 Division III players representing 39 different institutions made an appearance on this year's squads.  Nominees must have a senior or graduate student standing with no eligibility remaining or plans to use their eligibility in New England, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be an impact player for their team.

To be selected to the Spring All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year prior to the start of the competitive season.  To be named the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of the season.

Moeller recorded one assist while playing in all 19 games with 15 starts on defense for the Wolves this spring.  He scooped 32 ground balls and finished eighth in the LEC with 28 caused turnovers to collect all-conference second team recognition in 2026.  An alum of Rocky Point High School, Moeller graduated from WestConn in May with a degree in health education.  Stark had two goals and nine assists for 11 points and picked up 37 ground balls while adding seven caused turnovers as a short-stick midfielder this spring.  He played in all 19 games with one start and was named to the LEC All-Conference Second Team in 2026.  An alum of Long Beach High School, Stark graduated from WestConn in May with a degree in mathematics. 

Krieg totaled 28 goals and 12 assists for 40 points with two game-winners, and nine ground balls as a midfielder for the Wolves this spring.  Moeller was eighth in caused turnovers per game with 1.47 after causing a career-high 28 this season.  He was selected for the LEC All-Conference Second Team.  A graduate of Comsewogue High School, Krieg also plays football for the Wolves.  Suhr finished second in the LEC with a team-high 54 goals to go with 26 assists for 17 points as an attacker for the Wolves this spring.  He notched a team-high five game-winning goals, two man-up goals, and 19 ground balls while playing in all 19 games with 18 starts to collect LEC All-Conference First Team recognition in 2026.  A two-time All-LEC honoree, Suhr is majoring in finance at WestConn.  Kelly, the 2026 LEC Men's Lacrosse Specialist of the Year, recorded 200 saves this season (4th in LEC) with an 8.61 goals against average and a .575 save percentage in 18 games (18 starts) and 1,032 minutes in goal to go 14-4 in goal for the Wolves this spring.  Kelly was also an All-LEC First Team selection and is a graduate of Bethpage High School
