Box Score DANBURY, Conn. - After winning three straight matches, the Western Connecticut State University men's tennis team fell to the University of Saint Joseph, 9-0, in a non-conference matchup at Westside Courts on Monday afternoon.
In doubles action, the duo of
Sebastian Frisch and
Caleb Harris (#2) held an early lead but couldn't hold on, losing 8-4. Sophomore

Kevin Tenesaca (#1) kept chasing their opponent down by a game at each changeover, until they finally faltered, falling 8-5.
In singles play, Harris (#4) couldn't hold on to his one set lead and fell in three sets. Tenesaca (#1) and Frisch (#3) both rebounded from losing their first set and fell just short of forcing a third set, falling 7-5 in the second set. In the final match, Burke (#2) fell in three sets after coming back from a set down.
"Today was a good test versus a strong team. We put up a strong fight and contended in just about every one of the courts. A match like this will help prepare us for our race in the conference. We can not afford to start out slowly, we have to start strong and not look back," stated WestConn head coach Shawn Stillman following the contest, which was postponed slightly due to the highly anticipated solar eclipse.
With the loss, the Wolves dropped to 3-6 overall. They return to action when they host a Little East Conference tilt against the University of Southern Maine on Saturday at 1 p.m.
