Emily Kiernan (Watertown, Conn.) won the 200-yard butterfly title with a time of 2:19.50, as the Western Connecticut State University Wolves finished ninth place as a squad in the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Boston Sports Institute this weekend. WestConn totaled 82 points, which was 11 more than 10th-place UMass-Dartmouth and 64 behind eighth-place Western New England. Eastern Connecticut won the team title with 805 points.
Kiernan won her gold medal in tonight's finals, besting the second-place finisher by just over a half second. Kiernan also finished third in the 100-yard butterfly and the 400-yard IM this weekend to earn LEC All-Conference honors in three events. She posted times of 4:58.69 in the 400-yard IM on Saturday and 1:03.15 in the 100-yard fly on Friday.

Ciara Roberts (Stratford, Conn.) earned a 15th-place finish in the 1,650-yard free today and was 16th in the 500-yard freestyle on Friday. In diving, WestConn freshman
Sophia Simoes (Watertown, Conn.) finished fifth off the three-meter board with a score of 258.40 on Thursday and seventh off the one-meter board with a score of 241.60 on Saturday.
