WestConn Women's Swimming Hosts William Paterson In Last Home Meet

DANBURY, Conn. - Freshman Ciara Roberts (Stratford, Conn.) won the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle races, as the Western Connecticut State University Wolves lost, 146-65, against the visiting William Paterson University Pioneers in women's swimming and diving action this afternoon at the O'Neill Center.  WestConn falls to 1-10 with its fourth setback in a row heading into the last dual meet on Wednesday at New York Maritime. William Paterson improves to 12-2 with its fifth victory in a row and its second over the Wolves this winter.  The Pioneers had posted a 1230-79 decision as part of the Sarah Lawrence Sprint Carnival on October 21.  In diving, Wolves freshman Sophia Simoes (Watertown, Conn.) was the one competitor and earned scores of 141.70 off the three-meter board and 140.30 off the one-meter board.  Rookie Emily Kierman (Watertown, Conn.) was second in the 100-yard IM and the 200-yard breaststroke for the Wolves.
