DANBURY, Conn. - The Western Connecticut State University Wolves dropped a 9-0 decision against the visiting Rhode Island College Anchorwomen in Little East Conference (LEC) women's tennis action this afternoon at Westside Courts. WestConn falls to 4-8 overall and 2-5 in the Little East Conference, while the Anchorwomen improve to 14-1 overall and 7-1 in the league. The Wolves will be back on the courts on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. to face the Albertus Magnus College Falcons.

Diana Rebelo (Naugatuck, Conn.) stretched the No. 1 doubles match to the limit in an 8-6 setback, while senior
Sophie Charbonneau (Oakville, Conn.) was stellar in a losing effort, taking the second set of the No. 4 match, 6-4, before falling, 10-7, in the tiebreaker.
"We had a tough match today versus a tough team," said WestConn Head Coach Shawn Stillman. "We knew going in the challenge that we faced, but our ladies came to play. I was proud of their effort."
