Box Score DANBURY, Conn. - Junior forward Reagan Schoen (Newtown, Conn.) had a goal and an assist to lead the Western Connecticut State University Wolves to a 2-0 win over the visiting Nichols University Bison in field hockey action this evening at Westside Stadium.  WestConn improves to 6-9 and snaps a four-game losing skid, while the Bison drop to 3-12.  The Wolves will visit Little East Conference (LEC) rival Keene State next on Saturday at noon.

WestConn put pressure on Nichols goalie Sophia Venable from the start, forcing her to make four saves in the scoreless first quarter and two more early in the second.  Schoen broke WestConn's 196-minute scoring drought 3:42 into the second quarter when she intercepted a pass in the Bison backfield and deked multiple defenders before shooting past Venable.  Schoen fed freshman midfielder Andrew Moulton (Stafford Springs, Conn.) for WestConn's second goal with 6:01 remaining before halftime.  Schoen penetrated into the Nichols defense from the right and sent a high pass in front of the cage that Moulton quickly smacked out of the air and into the cage.

WestConn ousthot Nichols, 13-1, after intermission and subbed liberally throughout the final two quarters.  Venable made seven more saves after halftime to finish with 15 for the game, while freshman Jaden Kilmer (East Islip, N.Y.) needed to make just one stop to improve to 3-3 with her first career shutout.  The Wolves finished with a 22-to-6 shooting edge and had seven penalty corners against three for the Bison.
