DANBURY, Conn. - The Western Connecticut State University Wolves blanked the visiting Albertus Magnus College Falcons in women's tennis action on a cold and windy afternoon at Westside Courts. The match, which started late due to weather delays, concludes the Wolves' fall campaign and WestConn improves to 5-9 with its second win against the Falcons this autumn. Albertus Magnus, which lost against WestConn, 7-2, on September 12, drops to 1-10.

Photini Bass (New Milford, Conn.) scored her first collegiate victory at No. 6 singles. Junior
Aylina Razeq (Danbury, Conn.) at No. 5 and rookie
Ava Ciampi (Wolcott, Conn.), at No. 3, also rolled with convincing victories. Senior Melania Grasso (New Fairfield, Conn.), Sophia Charbonneau (Oakville, Conn.) and
Brooke Stillman (Brookfield, Conn.) won at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Grasso won in a tightly-contested, third-set tiebreaker 10-8, Charbonneau led a balanced attacked winning 6-3, 6-3 and Stillman came back from a 2-5 deficit in the second set to win in straight sets. Diana Rebelo (Naugatuck, Conn.) also wrapped her fall season with a win at first doubles.
"It always feels good to end the season with a win," said WestConn Head Coach Shawn Stillman. "Each player contributed to the win today, so that was cool. The season comes and goes so quickly. I am proud of these ladies. They worked hard and improved with each match. We're already looking forward to our spring break trip to keep it going."
