Jaheim Young (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had 21 points and seven rebounds to lead the Western Connecticut State University Wolves to a 78-66 win over the visiting Rhode Island College Anchormen in Little East Conference (LEC) men's basketball action this afternoon at Feldman Arena. WestConn improves to 13-2 overall and remains flawless and alone at the top of the Little East Conference at 6-0. Rhode Island College drops to 11-4 overall and 4-2 in the league. The Wolves host No. 12-ranked Keene State on Thursday in a Little East matchup at 5 p.m. Rhode Island College also plays Keene State next on Saturday at 3 p.m. in New Hampshire.

Alfonzo Stokes (Bloomfield, Conn.) and Young scored six of eight points to push the score to 70-61 with less than five minutes remaining. Wolves junior forward
Cameron Gallon (York, Pa.), Williams, and Young went 6-for-6 down the stretch to put the game away.
In the first half, WestConn went ahead, 6-0, early and back-to-back treys by Young put the Wolves ahead, 15-6, with 15:55 on the clock. The Anchormen fought back and tied the game at 17-all on a Wilson three-pointer at the 12:13 mark. The game was played evenly the rest of the first half until Rhode Island College took a 43-40 halftime lead on a Wilson layup in the closing seconds. Gallon finished with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Stokes and Williams added 13 points, six rebounds and three steals apiece. Wilson led all scorers with 24 points and Isaiah Dahl added 17 points for the Anchormen.
