Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Talho Tallies a Hat Trick as Men's Soccer Races Past John Jay

DANBURY, Conn. – Junior forward Kadin Talho (Waterbury, Conn.) tallied three goals, while sophomore backer Damian Reyes dished out a trio of assists as the Western Connecticut State University men's soccer team raced past visiting non-conference nemesis John Jay College, 8-0, on Monday night at the Westside Athletic Complex.

The Wolves dominated play from the start. Talho pierced the scoring column 20:42 into the contest when he blasted a shot just inside the left post. Less than three minutes later, rookie forward Adrian Nunez (Kissimmee, Fla.) took a pass from sophomore midfielder Jacob Burdick (Essex, Conn.) and fired a shot into the twine from just inside the top of the box.

WestConn didn't stop there as Talho chipped the ball into the open side of the net off a beautiful sweeping cross from Reyes. Sophomore forward Maximus Vigo (Canton, Mich.) rounded out the first half barrage with a shot into a wide-open net after a Bloodhound defensive miscue.

The Wolves flurry continued in the second half. Senior midfielder Kent Eannarino (Brookfield, Conn.) notched his first goal of the season before rookie forward Chance Campbell (Bartow, Fla.) netted his second of the campaign, both assisted by Reyes, extending the advantage to 6-0.

Talho completed the hat trick with a nifty header for his team-leading 8th goal of the year in the 59th minute of play. Vigo then tallied his second scoring strike of the day in the 66th minute to make it 8-0.

With the win, WestConn racked up its highest offensive output of the slate and improved to 6-1-2 overall, while John Jay dropped to 2-5. The Wolves will look to keep things rolling when they travel to non-league opponent Trinity College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
