WestConn Ties Sage On The Road In Women's Soccer

ALBANY, N.Y. - Senior Myah Croze (Bristol, Conn.) scored for the Wolves, as visiting Western Connecticut State University tied the Russell Sage College Gators, 1-1, in women's soccer action this afternoon at ACP Complex.  WestConn moves to 1-3-4 and has a three-game unbeaten streak (1-0-2), while Sage improves to 3-1-1.  The Wolves will return to Danbury with a home game against Little East Conference (LEC) rival VTSU Castleton on Saturday at 1 p.m.  The Gators entertain Empire 8 opponent Keuka on Saturday at 2 p.m.

WestConn was the aggressor in the first half, putting four shots on goal, including two by junior Adriana Alfano (New Milford, Conn.) while the Wolves' defense did not yield a single shot-on-goal in the first 45 minutes of play.  Just under four minutes into the second frame, Croze got an unassisted tally past Gator goalie Olivia Horan to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage.  In the 75th minute, WestConn rookie goalkeeper Gracen Regan (Monrow, N.J.) made her only save of the contest on a bid by Sage's Brooke Galka.  The Gators tied the game with just 1:43 on the clock when Julia Hanlon converted on a penalty kick.  The Wolves were held without a shot-on-goal in the second half, settling for their fourth draw of the season.
