DANBURY, Conn. - Junior forward
Suzana Imetovski (Seymour, Conn.) tallied two goals and two assists to guide the Western Connecticut State University women's soccer team to its first victory of the season as they breezed past visiting non-conference foe Framingham State, 6-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Westside Athletic Complex. Senior
Hannah Daly (Newtown, Conn.) chipped in with a scoring strike and two helpers.
It was all WestConn wire-to-wire as Imetovski netted her first goal of the afternoon off a feed from Daly just 6:19 into the contest. Moments later, sophomore
Sophia Onek (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) got in on the action as she tickled the twine courtesy of another assist from Daly.Â
The Wolves didn't stop there as senior
Myah Croze (Bristol, Conn.) and Daly each found the back of the net, rounding out the first half flurry and widening the gap to 4-0 at halftime.
The second half was a similar story as the hosts tacked on another pair of goals. Imetovski fired home her second goal of the game in the 75th minute before rookie
Jasmine Islami (Bethel, Conn.) connected in the 79th minute, rounding the scoring out at 6-0.Â
The Wolves outshot Framingham by a 34-8 margin while also holding the edge in corner kick attempts, 6-2. Three WestConn netminders combined to stop five shots, while Framingham's Jetta Oskirko racked up 18 saves.Â
With the win, WestConn improved to 1-3-3 overall while the Rams dropped to 1-4. The Wolves return to action for a non-league road matchup at Russell Sage College on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
