FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - Junior
Adriana Alfano (New Milford, Conn.) connected on a goal. However, the Western Connecticut State University women's soccer team fell to Rowan University, 5-1, at Farmingdale's Rams Field on Sunday afternoon.
Olivia Giordano paced Rowan with a a pair of goals, while Manon Bada chipped in with a pair of assists. The hosts pierced the scoring coloumn first when Giordano found the back of the net.
Alfano retaliated moments later, but that was as close as the Wolves would get.
Rowan took a 3-1 lead into halftime before two different players netted goals in the second half to earn the 5-1 win.
With the loss, WestConn dropped to 0-2-2 overall while Rowan improved to 4-0. The Wolves will look to notch their first win of the slate when they host non-conference foe Vassar College on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
