DANBURY, Conn. - Senior attack
Dominique DeMarsico (Danbury, Conn.) scored four goals to lead the Western Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team to a 13-3 victory over visiting Keene State College in the semifinals of the Little East Conference Championships at the Westside Athletic Complex on Thursday afternoon.
DeMarsico finished with the four markers and handed out an assist to increase her team-leading point total to 78 for the LEC regular-season title holders.
The Wolves, now 15-2, will defend their back-to-back tournament titles on Saturday against Plymouth State University, which defeated University of Southern Maine, 11-8, in the other LEC semifinals taking place tonight. Game time on Saturday will be 12 noon with the WestConn men's team taking on University of Massachusetts Boston in the LEC Championship doubleheader, at 4 pm.Â

Colleen Crotty (Peabody, Mass.) added a hat-trick for the winners.

Gina Giambald (East Meadow, N.Y.) each found the back of the net for the Wolves, which run their win streak to eight games.
Keene State, which ends its season at 8-11, took an early 1-0 lead at the 10:20 mark of the first stanza when Haile Ratajack (Brewster, N.Y.) deposited her team-leading 56th goal of the season. By game's end, Ratajack would be the only Owls to register a goal, scoring three unassisted goals.
Both goalies sparkled between the pipes on Thursday.Â
WestConn senior
Anna Schipf (Babylon, N.Y), fresh off being named LEC Goalie of the Week on Monday, made eight saves. Several of her stops came from 11 point-blank attempts from the visitors.
Keene State net minder Kara Moriarty (Groton, Conn.) made 10 saves and withstood a barrage of 33 shots from the Wolves.
The Wolves have won two straight LEC post-season titles and advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships in 2021 and 2022.
The Panthers have won eight LEC crowns since the conference began sponsoring a tournament championship in 2002. The Owls and Eastern Connecticut State University follow with four titles each.
