MANSFIELD, Conn. - Senior left fielder
Christopher Ehlers (Norwalk, Conn.) went 2-for-3 and drove in the only run as the Western Connecticut State University baseball team were defeated, 16-1, in seven innings, at Eastern Connecticut State University on Tuesday afternoon.

Nicholas Bruno (Naugatuck, Conn.) who belted a one-out double in the Wolves' fifth inning.
The Warriors, now 26-7 overall and 10-3 in the Little East Conference, chased WestConn starter
Zach Kugler (Newtown, Conn.) by scoring nine runs in the first two innings. Kugler made it through three innings after allowing three unearned runs on seven hits and struck out one. He falls to 1-2 on the season from the bump.
Tyler Olmo (Ardsley, N.Y.) hurled the next two innings and gave up four runs on eight hits and fanned one.Â
Zachary Royka (Naugatuck, Conn.) pitched the final inning as ECSU added on three more runs to secure the mercy-rule outcome. He allowed three runs on five hits and also struck out one.
Dylan Scudder improved to 4-1 on the hill for the eighth-ranked Warriors. He allowed one run on five hits, struck out three and walked two in five innings of work.
Bryan Dinnis and Mike Furgalack each tossed an inning of relief for the winners.
Three Eastern Connecticut batters registered three hits on Tuesday. Josh Cofrancesco, Ray Leonzi and Alejandro Soriano each had three hits and a pair of runs batted in for the Warriors. Leonzi was one of four Warriors with a double today. Ryan Parent drove in three runs with a single, sacrifice fly and ground out in four trips to the dish.
WestConn, now 9-25 and 3-10 in the league, travel to Wesleyan University for a non-conference tilt on Wednesday. First pitch against the Cardinals is slated for 4 pm in Middletown, CT.
The eighth-place Wolves have three games remaining in LEC play including a doubleheader against Castleton University, which sits in sixth place at the time of this release. Saturday's home noon twin bill against the Spartans may be changed to a Friday double dip with inclement weather forecasted for the Danbury area this weekend. Make sure to check the WestConn schedule for latest schedule updates over the next two days.
