Box Score KEENE, N.H. - Despite game-highs of 29 points and six blocked shots from senior guard Kendall Robinson (Bellport, N.Y.), the second-seeded Western Connecticut State University men's basketball team was edged at top-seeded and fifth-ranked host Keene State, 83-79, in the Little East Conference Tournament Championship matchup on Saturday afternoon. It marked the Wolves third loss of the season to the Owls - two of them in overtime.

Robinson led the Wolves with eight rebounds and shot 9-of-19 in 35 minutes of play.

Ryan Alkins (Queens, N.Y.) and Jaheim Young (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 15 and 11 points, respectively, for the Wolves, which end their season at 22-5.

Down seven points at halftime, the Owls stormed back in front of a capacity crowd at Spaulding Gym.

Keene State senior co-captain Jeff Hunter was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player as the Owls captured their sixth tournament title, second in a row, and fifth in the last eight years.

Five Owls finished in double figures in the scoring column with Nate Siow leading the way with 19 points.  Hunter added 14 points and yanked down 25 rebounds on Saturday.  Octavio Brito added a baker's dozen while Mason Jean-Baptiste and Taheem Dupree chipped in 12 and 11 points for the winners.

Both teams struggled shooting from the field with the Wolves connecting on 29-of-73 attempts (39.7%) in the fan-packed comfy confines.  The hosts shot a season-low 33.8% and were 5-of-27 (18.5%) from beyond the three-point arc.  The combatants each missed seven free-throw attempts, but Keene State was awarded 13 more tries from the charity stripe on the day.

The Owls earned the LEC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III tournament and will learn who and where they play when selections are announced on Monday, February 27.
