DANBURY, Conn. - Senior guard
Kendall Robinson (Bellport, N.Y.) tallied a game-high 19 points to lead the Western Connecticut State University men's basketball team to a 77-62 victory over the University of Southern Maine in a Little East Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Jaysean Morgan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), senior forward
Ryan Alkins (Queens, N.Y.) and junior guard
Jalen Jackson (Brick, N.J.) netted 18, 11 and 10 points, respectively.Â
Freshman guard Diego Colon (New Braunfels, Tex.) paced the Huskies with 17 points, while junior guard Chance Dixon (Lake Worth, Fla.) added 16.Â
The hosts led wire-to-wire as they opened the contest with an 8-0 run. Dixon drained a trifecta shortly before halftime cutting the deficit to 27-21.
The visitors would trim the advantage to 49-44 early in the second half. However, WestConn would gradually widen the gap, eventually leading by 19 when senior forward
Jaheim Young (Brooklyn, N.Y.) sank a pair of free throws with just under two minutes remaining.
WestConn shot 25-of-53 (47.2 percent) for the game, while Southern Maine managed to go just 20-of-54 (37 percent). The Wolves pounced all over the glass, finishing with a 40-28 advantage. The hosts also dominated the paint by a 26-14 scoring margin.Â
With the win, WestConn improved to 13-1 overall and 5-1 in league play, while the visitors dropped to 10-6 and 4-3. The Wolves return to action on Wednesday when they head to LEC archrival Eastern Connecticut. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
