The contest finished close in most statistical categories. However, the Wolves rallied from 20 points down as they forced 27 turnover which translated to 45 points. They coughed the ball up just 16 times themselves. They also dominated the points in the paint by a whopping 66-38 margin.

Eastern opened the game with a 10-2 run before extending the advantage to 41-21 with four minutes to go before halftime. WestConn put together a flurry to cut the deficit in half, trailing 44-34 at the break. Robinson netted six of his points during the run.

Trailing 52-41 early in the second half, the visitors staged yet another run. This time they erupted with an 18-4 barrage to seize a 59-56 lead midway thru the period. Alkins ignited the rally when he muscled in a layup before Robinson rounded out the run with a nifty shot from the paint.

The lead went back-and-forth several times in the waning minutes of regulation. Robinson followed up a miss with a put-back dunk which gave the Wolves an 83-81 advantage with less than a minute left. The Warriors hit the front end on a pair of free throw opportunities before the Wolves missed a would-be game-clincher, forcing the extra session.

It was all WestConn in overtime. Young scurried down the lane for a pair of layups to begin the scoring. Morgan added another pair before the Wolves threw down another furious slam to cap the victory.

With the win, WestConn improved to 14-1 overall and 6-1 in league play, while Eastern fell to 6-11 and 3-5. The Wolves will look to keep things rolling when they host Plymouth State in another LEC tilt on Saturday at 3 p.m.
