Women's Soccer Blanked At Vassar, 2-0

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Senior Kristen Roessler (Danbury, Conn.) made six saves, but the Western Connecticut State University dropped a 2-0 decision at powerful Vassar College on Wednesday afternoon.

The Wolves drop to 2-4 on the season while the Brewers improve to 2-2-1 in the early going.

Jacqueline Morrison put the hosts up following an assist from Vilet Munnelly at the 13:30 mark.  It was Morrison's first tally of the season.

Isabel Leinenweber gave Vassar an insurance goal with 17:37 remaining before intermission.  She was set up by Sydney MacDonald.

Teresa Zimmer made a pair of saves for Vassar.

The hosts offense was on all cylinders in the first stanza, finishing with an 11-1 shot advantage in the first 45 minutes.

The Wolves open Little East Conference play this Saturday, September 17, when they travel to Rhode Island College.  Game time against the Anchormen is set for 1 pm.
