PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Despite a 2-for-4 showing at the plate from senior

With the loss, WestConn dropped to 5-12 overall and 1-6 in league play, while the Anchormen notched their eighth straight win, improving to 19-6-1 and 7-1.
RIC exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the first inning, paced by senior Jarrad Grossguth's three-run home run into deep left field, to build an 8-1 advantage.

RIC went into the home half of the seventh up by nine, 12-3, and needing one run to end the game early. Santerre reached on an error, advanced to second on a failed pick-off attempt and eventually beat a throw to the plate on Grossguth's grounder to third.
