FORT PIERCE, FL - Trailing 10-0 early in the game, the Western Connecticut State University baseball team stormed back, however, the rally came up short as they fell to Hood College, 15-7, on Thursday afternoon. With the loss, WCSU dropped to 4-3 overall, while Hood improved to 7-9.
Hood notched eight runs in the second frame and a pair in the third to take the advantage. But WestConn would not go down quietly. They erupted to put up seven runs in the fifth, shrinking the deficit to 10-7.

Hood countered with a pair of RBI doubles in the sixth, widening the gap to 12-7 before adding two in the eighth and one in the ninth to seal the win.
WestConn wraps up the spring trip when they meet Franciscan University tomorrow at 10 a.m.
