WILLIMANTIC, Conn. - Rookie guard Reilly Mckiverkin (Congers, N.Y.) tallied a team-high nine points on 4-for-5 shooting as the Western Connecticut State University women's basketball team fell at archrival Eastern Connecticut, 64-37, in a Little East Conference matchup on Wednesday night.
With the loss, WestConn dropped to 7-15 and 2-11 in league play while the Warriors improved to 17-8 and 14-2.
Three players tallied double figures in points for the hosts. Anna Barry led the way with a game-high 27 points, while Jenna Serrantino chipped in with 11.
The Warriors shot a robust 43% percent from the floor while holding WestConn to just a 30 percent clip. The hosts also forced 23 turnovers while coughing it up just 11 times themselves.Â
WestConn will look to rebound from the loss when they travel to LEC foe Plymouth State on Friday at 1 p.m.
