Classmate guard Wes Nelson (Queens, N.Y.) netted eight and dished out a game-high 10 assists, while junior guard Ahmod Privott (Middletown, Conn.) chipped in with seven points and a game-high four steals for the hosts.

Rookie forward Alex Blackmore (Wellington, New Zealand) paced the visitors with 15 points, while senior guard Eric Shaw added 12.

WestConn jumped out to an early 7-0 lead. However, the Spartans rallied to snag a 13-10 advantage when sophomore forward Justin Schwarzbeck (Newburgh, N.Y) buried a shot from beyond the arc. But the hosts would answer with an 11-4 run to close out the first half with a 36-26 lead.

It was all WestConn the rest of the way as the lead ballooned to as much as 37 points.
