DANBURY, Conn. - In a battled with defending Little East Conference regular-season and tournament champion, Western Connecticut State University, against newly crowned league regular-season champion University of Southern Maine, the Wolves prevailed, 1-0 in front of a Senior Day crowd at the Westside Athletic Complex.

The Wolves improve to 12-6-1 overall and reside in second place in the league at 6-1-1. The Huskies drop to 15-3-0, following their first road setback of the season, and are 7-1-0 in conference action.
Saturday was WestConn's sixth shut out of an opponent while USM suffered its first blanking and have now lost two games in a row, also for the first time this season.
Both teams earned a first-round bye for the upcoming LEC Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, November 1, and will host a semifinal game on Thursday. Opponents and game times are will be determined following the quarterfinals two days earlier.
