Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Wolves Fall to Wesleyan, 3-0

DANBURY, Conn. - After going unbeaten in their last nine games, the Western Connecticut State University women's soccer squad saw its streak snapped with a 3-0 loss to visiting non-conference foe Wesleyan University on Tuesday night at the Westside Athletic Complex.

Senior forward Dani Milovanov (Milford, Conn.) paced the Cardinals as she was apart of all three goals, scoring a pair, while dishing out an assist. Classmate forward Audrey Lavey (Newton, Mass.) accounted for the other tally.

The visitors stayed in command for most of the contest, finishing with a 19-8 advantage in shots and 10-1 lead in corner kick attempts.

The Cardinals broke the ice midway thru the opening half when Milovanov gathered a long feed from the sideline and blasted a shot into the top corner from 20 yards out. The visitors would hold the 1-0 lead at the break.

Lavey deflected a long feed into the twine off a free kick from Milovanov in the 62nd minute of play. It marked Lavey's fourth goal of the season.

Wesleyan wrapped things up when Milovanov netted her team-leading sixth goal of the campaign in the 78th minute.

One bright spot for WestConn was the play of senior goalkeeper Kristen Roessler (Danbury, Conn.). She kept the game the close with some stellar saves in between the iron, finishing with nine. Rookie netminder Molly Brumbach (Montclair, N.J.) turned aside five for the visitors.

WestConn will look to get back to its winning ways when they travel to Little East Conference nemesis UMass Boston on Saturday at 1 p.m.
