Box Score BOSTON, Mass. - Despite goals from sophomore
Kent Eannarino (Brookfield, Conn.) and rookie Laurenzo Lauria (New Haven, Conn.), the Western Connecticut State University men's soccer team fell at Little East Conference opponent UMass-Boston, 4-2, on Saturday night.
With the loss, WestConn dropped to 13-5 overall and 5-2 in league play, while the Beacons improved to 12-2-1 and 5-1-1.
Eannarino struck for the first goal of the contest less than 21 minutes in. Shortly thereafter, the hosts knotted the count at 1-1.
WestConn regained the lead when Lauria took a feed from
Kadin Talho and found the back of the net for his eighth goal of the year, giving the visitors a 2-1 advantage at the break.
However, UMass-Boston rattled off three straight goals in the second half en route to the win.
WestConn will look to rebound when they host non-league opponent Pratt Institute on Wednesday at 6 p.m. on Senior Night. They then host LEC foe Southern Maine in their regular season finale on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the conference postseason tournament slated to begin on November 2.
