It is with great sadness that I must convey the terrible news that three members of the WestConn Men's Lacrosse Team were involved in a deadly traffic accident Friday afternoon.

The students who passed away are Jacob Chapman and Tyler Graham.  Both young men were first-year students.  Jacob, 18, was a Business Management major from Colchester.  Tyler, also 18, majoring in Management Information Sciences, lived in Colchester as well.

The wake and funeral will be at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 128 Norwich Avenue, Colchester, CT 06415.
 
Wake from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, October 29, 2021. 
Funeral is at 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 30, 2021.
 
Jacob Chapman:
 
The wake will be at Aurora McCarthy funeral home,  167 Old Hartford Rd. , Colchester, CT 06415 on Monday Nov. 1st from 3:00pm-7:00pm

The third student in the accident, Trey Massaro, 19, a first-year majoring in Justice and Law Administration, suffered serious injuries but is expected to recover.  Trey is from Dalton, Massachusetts.

All three students were members of the Men's Lacrosse team.

Information on a memorial service for Jacob and Tyler on campus soon will come out soon.  

We continue to mourn the loss of two of our promising young students and hope for a strong recovery for Trey.

Our Counseling Center has met with players and coaches of the lacrosse team and we will also provide counseling to students in Litchfield Hall, where the three team members lived on campus, as well as any students in need.
