Matthew Constantinides, a dedicated lacrosse coach and former Division I standout faceoff specialist with a strong background in player development, leadership, and program operations, joined the Western Connecticut State University men's lacrosse coaching staff in the spring of 2025. Constantinides graduated from Towson University with a bachelor's degree in communications, where he maintained a 3.27 cumulative g.p.a. while earning Dean’s List honors and recognition on the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.  With a passion for teaching, mentorship, and competitive excellence, Matthew is committed to helping athletes reach their full potential both on the field and in the classroom.

Constantinides currently coaches with The Faceoff Academy in Connecticut, where he mentors middle and high school athletes in specialized faceoff technique and overall skill development. He works closely with players through personalized film analysis, helping them refine fundamentals and improve performance. Beyond on-field instruction, he assists in organizing major events including national showcases, the Navy overnight camp, and the I-95 Cup. He also communicates with families throughout the recruiting process and supports program growth through promotional video production and weekly social media content.  He also serves as an assistant coach with Primetime Lacrosse in Katonah, New York, working with its prestigious 2027 summer team. His responsibilities include leading practices, coordinating travel logistics, preparing athletes for national tournaments, and fostering leadership and accountability both on and off the field.

As a student-athlete at Towson, Constantinides was one of the most accomplished faceoff specialists in program history. He is the all-time leader in faceoff wins (712) and a two-time CAA First Team All-Conference First Team selection. He was also selected to represent the team in Towson’s L.E.A.D. Tiger leadership program, collaborating with fellow student-athlete leaders to develop communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.  Prior to college, Constantinides was a multi-sport captain at New Fairfield High School, earning U.S. Lacrosse All-American honors and leading that team to a conference title. In football, he played quarterback and set the school’s single-season passing touchdown record and helped guide the program to its first playoff appearance in five years.
