Western Connecticut State University

Bill Goncalves begins his tenth season as an assistant men's soccer coach at Western Connecticut State University in 2026. Goncalves brings a wealth of coaching experience that spans from youth to regional premier level teams and spent three years as the Shelton High School boys' soccer varsity assistant coach. He currently works as a coach for Revolution United's premier club. Goncalves has earned both the USSF National "D" License and the USSF National Youth Technical License.

Goncalves is an alum of WestConn and played for the Colonials from 2004 to 2007. As a player, he helped his team earn the Little East Conference (LEC) Tournament Championship in 2005 and qualify for the NCAA Tournament. In his current role, Goncalves serves as the program's technical coach and runs the training sessions. He continues to contribute to recruiting and also leads the program's mental performance work, delivering regular sessions focused on the psychological demands of the game, and provides support for the Wolves' strength and conditioning program.
