Alex Stoian is an UEFA A licensed soccer coach with 19 years of experience on the field, the last seven in the United States. He has coached several premier teams in Connecticut and was an assistant coach for the Cheshire High School girl's team assistant for two years between 2016 and 2018. Born and raised in Romania, he graduated from Al. I. Cuza University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and sports science.
Stoian continued his professional development following the coaching path of the Romanian Football Federation where he graduated from the UEFA B coaching license program in 2002 and UEFA A coaching license program in 2004. He played semi-professional soccer for his hometown team between 1995 and 2002 before a knee injury forced him to retire from soccer at age 24. Stoian founded his own soccer club in 2004 and several of his players have landed on professional clubs and the U16 Romanian National Soccer Team.
