Western Connecticut State University

Michael Lago, Jr joined the Western Connecticut State University football program as the Running Backs and Strength and Conditioning Coach in June 2015 after coaching at Ipswich High School in Ipswich, MA for the 2013 seasons.

This fall, he will coach the safeties.

While at Ipswich HS, he was the Varsity wide receivers and defensive backs coach along with being the Freshman Head Coach.

Lago, Jr. also coached varsity baseball at Fairfield Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, Conn. for the 2014 and 2015 seasons along with being the team’s Strength and Conditioning Coach. 

He graduated from Endicott College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education: Exercise Science.  He played safety for the Gulls winning two ECAC championships (2011 and 2012) and a NEFC conference championship (2010). 

Lago, Jr. is a native and resident of Newtown, Conn.
