DANBURY, Conn. — Western Connecticut State University Head Football Coach
Kevin Jones has announced the promotion of
Keion Jones to Offensive Coordinator, effective immediately.
Keion Jones will now oversee the Wolves' spread, air-raid passing attack, calling plays and directing the full offensive unit.
Jones joined the WestConn staff in 2025 as an assistant coach after a standout playing career at the University and has since coached the Wolves' quarterbacks. His promotion reflects both his rapid growth as a coach and his deep understanding of the program he once quarterbacked on the field.
"Keion has earned this opportunity,"Â Jones said. "He understands our system, and our synergy in how we view the game plan and where we want this offense to go has proven to me that he is ready for the added responsibility. This is a natural next step for him, and I'm excited to see how the system evolves from here."
Jones graduated from WestConn with a bachelor's degree in small business/entrepreneurship before transitioning directly into coaching, joining
Kevin Jones's staff in 2025.

Keion Jones's ties to WestConn run deep. As the Wolves' starting quarterback, he was a driving force behind one of the most successful seasons in recent program history:
- Led the Wolves to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament in 2023
- MASCAC All-Conference honoree (2023) — led the conference in passing yards and finished second in passing touchdowns
- Second in all of NCAA Division III in yards per completion (2023)
- Team MVP (2023)
- MASCAC All-Academic honoree (2023 and 2024)
- Elected team captain (2024)
- Recipient of the program's Sean Salisbury Man of the Year Award (2024)
