PAXTON, Mass. - Junior Braden Kassel (Washougal, Wash.) fired a 75 both days to tie for third on the leaderboard and propel the Western Connecticut State University Wolves to third place in the New England Classic Men's Golf Tournament at Kettle Brook Golf Club this afternoon. WestConn totaled 627 as a squad, improving 13 strokes from a 320 on Sunday to a 307 today to move up from a tie for fourth after the first round. The Wolves finished four strokes better than the host Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards and seven shy of second-place Endicott. Western New England finished atop the eight-team field with a 600. Kassel tied one other player at 150, four strokes behind first place. WestConn sophomore
Logan Starks (Mechanicville, N.Y.) improved five strokes on day two with a 73 today to finish sixth at 151. Wolves freshman
Daniel Zaleta (Danbury, Conn.) tied for 18th with a 159, while freshman
