Four WestConn Women's Lacrosse Players Claim CSC Academic All-District Recognition

DANBURY, Conn.. — Western Connecticut State University graduate Victoria Gracy (Bethel,Conn.), seniors Natalie Mazza (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) and Madison Ratchford (Ridge, N.Y.) and junior Kaitlyn Biase (Nesconset, N.Y.) were named to the 2026 CSC Division III Academic All-District At-Large Team.  Mazza, Ratchford and Biase also joined 12 other Wolves were on the 2025-26 Little East Conference (LEC) Fall Academic Honor Roll.  WestConn, coached by Rachael Griffith (3rd Season), finished the 2026 season at 15-4 overall and finished a perfect 8-0 against conference teams to capture the league's regular-season title.  The Wolves downed Plymouth State, 18-3, and Southern Maine, 11-9, to win its second-straight and fourth overall LEC Championship crown and qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament for the fourth time in six years. The Wolves were beaten, 14-7, by St. John Fisher University in the NCAA opening round at Middlebury College.

The 2026 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.  Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The LEC announced a total of 2,224 student-athletes competing in the conference's current 21 championship sports were named to the LEC Academic Honor Roll in recognition of their academic performance in the spring 2025 semester. To be named the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of the term.

Gracy, a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection, earned All-LEC recognition for the fifth time in 2026 after returning from a season-ending injury that occurred in 2025.  The LEC Midfielder of the Year in 2023 and 2024, Gracy started all 19 games in the midfield after coming back from an injury in the early part of 2025.  She had 47 goals and a team-high 26 assists (2nd in LEC) for 73 points (5th in LEC) on 106 shots with one game-winner, two free-position goals, and 19 ground balls this spring.  A graduate of Bethel High School, Gracy has been an LEC All-Academic and an LEC Academic Honor Roll member as a marketing major and while pursuing a master's in business administration at WestConn.  

Mazza, a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection, played in 16 games with 16 starts for the Wolves defense, totaling 15 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers, and an assist in 2026.  She received All-LEC Second Team honors in 2025.  A graduate of Putnam Valley High School, Mazza has been an LEC All-Academic and Academic Honor Roll member multiple times as an elementary education major at WestConn.

Ratchford, a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection, graced the LEC All-Conference Team for the third year in a row and was named to the All-LEC First Team for the second consecutive season in 2026.  She was also 2026 LEC Offensive Player of the Year and voted onto the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region honoree this spring.  Ratchford led the Wolves with a conference-best 85 goals (4th in nation), five game-winners, a league-high 110 points (15th in nation), 149 shots (tied), 17 free-position goals (2nd in LEC, 13th in nation) in 25 tries, 47 ground balls, and 88 draw controls (2nd in LEC).  She also dished 25 assists (7th in LEC) and caused 28 turnovers while starting all 19 games in the Wolves attack this season.  Her .680 percentage on free positions topped the LEC and ranks 18th nationally.  A graduate of Longwood High School, Ratchford has been an IWLCA National All-Academic, an LEC All-Academic and an LEC Academic Honor Roll member as a public health major at WestConn.

Biase, who made the CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team as a field hockey player in 2024-25, played in 18 games with 18 starts for the Wolves defense, totaling 13 ground balls and nine caused turnovers in 2026.  A graduate of Sachem North High School, Biase has earned LEC All-Academic and Academic Honor Roll accolades throughout her collegiate career as a business major at WestConn.
