PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Western Connecticut State University senior Mia Negus (Rocky Point, N.Y.) was honored as the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for her fantastic play in the Wolves' 19-2 conference road win at Plymouth State over the weekend. Negus had five ground balls and three caused turnovers against the Panthers on Saturday. The WestConn defense limited the Panthers to 11 shots and forced them into 24 turnovers.  WestConn, coached by Rachael Griffith (3rd Season), is 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the LEC this spring and will visit Worcester State next on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
