DANBURY, Conn. — The Western Connecticut State University baseball team fell 12-0 at home against the University of Mount Saint Vincent on Friday. The Wolves moved to 5-12 overall, while the Dolphins improved to 7-13.
After a scoreless first inning, the visitors took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second with an RBI double by Evan Dutzer to allow Andrew Farina to score. Mount Saint Vincent padded their lead with 11 more runs through the third, fourth, seventh, eighth and ninth frames.
Jimmy Muthersbaugh collected his third loss of the season after going three innings with five strikeouts.
WestConn remains at home with a Little East Conference doubleheader against the University of Southern Maine at noon on Saturday.
