Cody Suhr (Holbrook, N.Y.) racked up a game-high six goals while senior middie
Tristan McMahon (Farmingville, N.Y.) added five scoring strikes and one assist as the Western Connecticut State University men's lacrosse team rolled to a 25-5 victory over visiting Little East Conference opponent Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at the Westside Athletic Complex.
With the victory, the Wolves improved to 12-3 overall and 6-0 in league play, while the Huskies dropped to 3-10 and 0-6. The Wolves have now won 15 straight LEC games. Southern Maine's last victory at WestConn was a 12-11 win in the 2017 campaign.
The hosts put together a barrage to hold a 12-1 lead to conclude the first quarter. McMahon ignited the flurry with his 34th marker of the year before rookie attack
Thomas Keegan (Lake Grove, N.Y.) rounded out the run with his 23rd of the season.Â
Junior attack
Nicholas Saragossi (Levittown, N.Y.) contributed a hat trick in the third quarter, stretching the advantage to 25-2. The Wolves took their foot off the gas in the fourth quarter, allowing Southern Maine to cut the deficit to 25-5 to wrap up play.
WestConn returns to action for a pair of road games to conclude the regular season slate. They head to UMass Boston on Tuesday evening before concluding play at Plymouth State on Friday afternoon. The Little East Conference Championship tournament starts on April 28th.
