John Araujo (Bethel, Conn.) won the clinching singles match to lead the visiting Western Connecticut State University Wolves to a 4-3 victory over the University of St. Joseph Blue Jays in men's tennis action this afternoon at Elizabeth Ferry Speer Tennis Complex. WestConn improves to 4-10 and the Blue Jays drop to 3-10. The Wolves will host Little East Conference (LEC) rival Castleton next on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Alex Maldonado (Danbury, Conn.) won in straights sets at first and fourth singles, respectively, to give WestConn a 3-2 lead. Araujo picked up the fourth point with a 6-2, 6-4 decision at fifth singles.
"We had a little help with the forfeited court at No. 6, but our guys earned this win," said WestConn Head Coach Shawn Stillman. "They played hard and were focused. We were 0-for-3 in tiebreakers though, so we need to do better in those situations."
