WestConn's Henry Receives Weekly Men's Basketball Honors From LEC And Metro Writers

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - For the second time this season, Western Connecticut State University men's basketball standout Marcel Henry (Yonkers, N.Y.) was named to the Little East Conference (LEC) Player of the Week on Monday. He was also named to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Men's Basketball Division II/III Honor Roll for his outstanding performances in two WestConn victories last week.  Henry averaged 22.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 73 percent (19-of-26) from the floor in a 2-0 week for the Wolves. He had 18 points, a blocked shot, two boards and two steals in an 83-77 win at Eastern Connecticut before he poured in 27 points on 11-of-13 shooting from the floor to go with seven boards, and a block in a 78-66 victory at Plymouth State.  The Wolves, coached by Guy Rancourt (7th Season), are currently 15-5 overall and in second place in the LEC with an 8-3 conference record.  WestConn will host the University of Massachusetts-Boston Beacons next on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
