DANBURY, Conn. - Western Connecticut State University senior Sara Macary (Naugatuck, Conn.) was named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Weekly Second Team and to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Division II/III Honorable Mention for her fantastic play in Wolves games against Rhode Island College and UMass Dartmouth last week.  Macary had 25 points and seven rebounds in a 78-65 loss at Rhode Island College and 20 points with nine boards to help WestConn snap a 17-game losing streak against UMass Dartmouth. She made nine of 11 shots from the foul line in the two games..  WestConn, coached by Maria Conlon (2nd Season), finished the 2025-26 season over the weekend with a 10-15 record, 5-5 in its last 10 games, a 5-10 mark against conference teams.
