BOSTON, Mass. - The Western Connecticut State University Wolves dropped a 1-0 decision against the University of Massachusetts-Boston Beacons in Little East Conference (LEC) women's soccer action this afternoon at James Cotter Field. WestConn, which outshot the Beacons, 17-8, fall to 4-2-5 overall and 2-1-1 in the LEC, and UMass Boston improves to 3-4-3 overall and 2-0-1 in the league. The Wolves will host conference rival Eastern Connecticut next on Wednesday, October 7 at 6 p.m.
UMass Boston scored the game's only goal on the first shot of the contest in the sixth minute off the foot of Daniella Celotto. The Wolves got off four shots-on-goal in the first half but each saved by Beacon goalie Janiya Matier. In the second half, senior goalkeeper
