NORTHFIELD , Vt. — The Western Connecticut State University men's ice hockey team dropped an 8-2 contest to Little East Conference opponent Norwich University on Saturday. The Wolves fell to 1-15-0 overall and 0-9-0 on the season, while the Cadets improved to 10-4-1 and 6-2-0.
The hosts netted four straight tallies, including a pair of powerplay goals, before
Luca Maiuri (Niagara on the Lake, Ontario) put the Wolves on the board nine minutes into the second period with help from
Victor Gonzalez (Ridgefield, Conn.) and capitalized on the shorthanded Cadets. Norwich tallied four more goals across the remainder of regulation. At 14:13 in the final period,
Camden Carver (Flat Rock, Mich.) connected for the visitors' second goal of the game off the pass from
Connor Loerzel (Gads Hill, Ontario).
WestConn remains on the road to face LEC for Babson College on January 23 at 7 p.m.
