Eilynn Pierre (Queens Village, N.Y.) teamed up to win, 6-2, at third doubles, but the Rams won the other two doubles matches to collect the first point. Pierre was also competitive at fourth singles, falling, 7-5, 6-4, to Mackenzie Gisler. WestConn falls to 0-4 and the Rams improve to 2-3. The Wolves open Little East Conference (LEC) play Saturday on the road with an 11 a.m. match at Southern Maine.
"It's important to start out strong in doubles and our team is making progress," said WestConn Head Coach Shawn Stillman. "Earning this point can take some of the pressure off in singles. It's great to already see the improvement in everyone's game, we just need to keep working."
