WestConn Women's Soccer Picked Third In Little East Pre-Season Poll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Western Connecticut State University Wolves were voted to finish third in the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Soccer 2025 Pre-Season Poll.  WestConn, coached by Alex Harrison (10th Season), finished the 2024 campaign with a 11-6-5 overall record and finished third in the LEC with a 4-1-3 record against conference teams. The Wolves qualified for the LEC Championship Tournament, winning, 5-1, against Plymouth State and, 2-1, at UMass Boston before falling at Southern Maine, 3-0, in the league finals.

The two-time defending champion Southern Maine Huskies received 59 points and five first-place votes to rank No. 1 in the 2025 LEC Women's Soccer Pre-Season Poll, while UMass Boston was second with 56 points and two first-place votes and WestConn was close behind with 55 points and a pair of first-place tallies. Eastern Connecticut had 40 pointsto round out the top four selections.  The Wolves open the 2025 season at home against Emmanuel College on Saturday, August 30 at noon.  The Wolves open LEC play on Saturday, September 13 at home against Castleton and its final home game of the 20-game slate will be versus conference foe Rhode Island College on Friday, October 18 at 6 p.m.  WestConn faces more tough competition out of conference including home matches against Vassar, and Montclair State and road tilts at Merchant Marine and Wesleyan.
