7/9/2025 11:25:00 AM

DANBURY, Conn. – Western Connecticut State University Head Football Coach Kevin Jones has promoted Drew Hennessy to offensive coordinator for the 2025 season. Hennessy has served as the Wolves' offensive line coach since 2022 and coaches WestConn's defensive line in 2021.  WestConn, which opens the 2025 season at home against William Paterson on Saturday, September 6 at 5 p.m., will be playing its first season in the Landmark Conference this fall.  WestConn football finished 9-2 and second in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in 2024.  The Wolves won the ECAC's Asa S. Bushnell Bowl, 45-14, over Alfred University to close the year.

"Drew brings an immense amount of knowledge and passion to our offense," said Jones.  "Coach Hennessy has worked tirelessly for us over the years, first as our defensive line coach, then as our offensive line coach and run game coordinator.  As a former West Point offensive lineman, he brings a disciplined and systematic approach to our system that will make an immediate impact.  Drew and I have spent countless hours talking football both in and out of the office.  We are on the same page.  Our players should be anxious to get back on campus and be ready for some intense and efficient practices this August."

Hennessy has played a major role in WestConn's emergence as one of the most balanced and explosive units in New England,  He has mentored countless all-conference honorees on the offensive libe, including Pat Adams, who was the MASCAC Offensive Lineman of the Year and a New England Football Writers (NEFW) Division II/III All-Star in 2023 when the Wolves won the conference and played in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.  He came to WestConn after two years as the offensive and defensive line coach and strength and conditioning coach at Danbury High School.  Hennessy mentored several CIAC All-State players at Danbury HS that continued their athletic careers at the collegiate level.  As a three-sport standout at the Trinity-Pawling School in New York, Hennessy achieved all-conference honors at offensive tackle and went on to play collegiately at Army West Point.
