Savannah Kom (Danbury, Conn.) caught fire and scorched host UMass Dartmouth with four goals, four assists and six draw controls en route to a 14-13 victory for the Western Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon at Cressy Field. Sophomore

Maddy Allen led the Corsairs with four scoring strikes while Jenny Lipanovich added three goals and one assist.
The Wolves finished the contest ahead in shots, 32-24, and ground balls, 25-20. They would trail 6-2 late in the first quarter before storming back to earn the win. Kom found junior middie

Madison Ratchford (Ridge, N.Y.) fired home her team-leading 51st goal of the year, putting the visitors ahead 12-10. They would not relinquish the advantage. Junge buried her 15th of the year with 8:39 left to play to make it 14-12 before the Corsairs connected with the back of the twine with 3:51 remaining. The Corsairs would not be able to tally the equalizer.Â
With the win, WestConn improved to 12-2 overall and 5-1 in LEC play, while UMass Dartmouth dropped to 9-6 and 3-3. The Wolves return to action against visiting UMass Boston in another league matchup on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
