DANBURY, Conn. - Rookie outside hitter
Hallie Robillard (Middletown, Conn.) ripped a match-high nine kills without committing an error to propel the Western Connecticut State University women's volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-15-, 25-11, 25-13) shutout win over the University of St. Joseph in a non-conference contest on Wednesday evening at Feldman Arena.
It was a well-rounded effort from the Wolves who made short work of the visiting Blue Jays. Junior outside hitter
Julia Stoliker (Red Hook, N.Y.) continued her stellar campaign with eight floors and three service aces, while senior middle blocker
Delia Clouden (Newtown, Conn.) pounded home seven kills. Senior setter
Maggie Ferguson (Southbury, Conn.) tacked on a match-high 34 assists to go along with a trio of aces. Senior
Sydney Slupatchuk (New Milford, Conn.) and rookie
Ella Hubert (Buffalo, N.Y.) chipped in with five floor apiece.
The Wolves took control early and would not look back setting themselves up for a regular season finale matchup at Little East Conference foe Keene State College on Friday. The result will determine their spot in the upcoming LEC Championship Tournament slated to begin next week.
With the victory, WestConn improved to 18-6 overall while the Blue Jays fell to 6-21.
