PLYMOUTH, N.H. —
Raphael-Noah Boiteau (Bromont, Quebec) netted his first career goal to knot the game in the first period, but the Western Connecticut State University men's ice hockey team fell 7-2 on the road at Plymouth State University in Little East Conference (LEC) action on Saturday. The Wolves dropped to 0-8-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the league, while the Panthers moved to 5-3-0 and 5-1-0.
Etienne Tremblay-Mathieu connected for the first goal of the game at 9:11 in the first period, but three minutes later Boiteau delivered the equalizer off the pass from
Camden Carver (Flat Rock, Mich), who was behind the net along the back boards.
Tremblay-Mathieu scored once more in the opening period for a powerplay goal to put the hosts up, 2-1, with less than four minutes left in the first and the first-year added another goal at 7:31 in the second to capitalize on the short-handed Wolves. PSU added four more goals across the second and third stanzas.
With five minutes remaining in regulation,
Tyler Gobel (Lindon, N.J.) added another goal for WestConn off the stick of
Phil Parker (Rehoboth, Mass.).
WestConn returns home for a non-conference game against Roger Williams University on Tuesday, November 25th at 4 p.m.
