DANBURY, Conn. — Western Connecticut State University women's lacrosse senior
Vicky Gracy (Bethel, Conn.) and Wolves' sophomores
Natalie Mazza (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) and
Madison Ratchford (Ridge, N.Y.) were each named to the 2024 CSC Division III Academic All-District At-Large Team. The trio also joined WestConn sophomores
Faye Junge (Centerport, N.Y.) and
Grace Smawley (Melville, N.Y..) on the 2024 Little East Conference (LEC) Spring All-Academic Team. In addition, all five of them were named to the LEC Fall and Spring Academic Honor Rolls in 2023-24.

Colleen Crotty (Peabody, Mass.) and
Alexa Riggio (North Massapequa, N.Y.), sophomores
Gina Giambald (East Meadow, N.Y.) and
Nora Zuidema (Marlboro, N.Y.) and freshmen
Samantha Paredes (Brentwood, N.Y.) and
Isabella Pota (East Meadow, N.Y) also graced the LEC Fall and/or Spring Academic Honor Rolls this year. WestConn women's lacrosse, coached by
Rachael Griffith (1st Season), finished the 2024 campaign with a 12-6 overall record and won the the Little East regular season title with a perfect 7-0 mark against conference teams. The Wolves were the top seed in the LEC Championship Tournament, but lost, 13-8, to Plymouth State University in the semifinal round.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® women's honorees will be announced on July 16. To be selected to the LEC Winter All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30. To be named the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of the season.
Gracy, the 2023 and 2024 LEC Midfielder of the Year and All-LEC First Teamer, topped the Wolves in scoring this spring with 66 points on 45 goals and a team-high 21 assists (10th in LEC). She had one game-winning tally and a team-high eight goals on free positions to go with 28 ground balls, 46 draw controls, and 18 caused turnovers while starting all 18 games. She has been an LEC All-Academic and an LEC and Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll member several times and repeats as a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection this spring. A graduate of Bethel High School, Gracy is majoring in marketing at WestConn.
Mazza, a 2024 LEC All-Conference Second Team selection, started every game on defense this spring, totaling 17 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers while scoring once on a free-position shot. A graduate of Putnam Valley High School, Mazza has been an LEC All-Academic and Academic Honor Roll member multiple times as an elementary education major at WestConn.
Ratchford, a 2024 LEC All-Conference Second Team selection, led the Wolves with 46 goals (10th in LEC), tying for the team lead with three game-winning tallies, and added 12 assists for 58 points while starting all 18 games and switching between the attack and the midfield this season. She scored five times on free-position shots, picked up 23 ground balls and tied for the team lead with 15 caused turnovers. Ratchford is a graduate of Longwood High School.
